Here in the Philippines, selling and buying of used clothing and shoes from other countries is a hit. We call it ukay-ukay, derived from the word “ukay” which means to rummage. So it means you choose clothes as you rummage the pile of used clothes and shoes.
And because of the ukay-ukay trend here in our country, foreign fashion is possible. It means that one can have a winter’s look even though we don’t have winter here. Or one can look like an equestrian even though he or she isn’t because you can also buy used equestrian boots. And the best part of all is that anyone can now wear branded clothes!! You don’t have to be rich to afford Guess, United Colors and the like!
